One of 101 titles in the St. Joseph Picture Book Series, this book by popular author Rev. Jude Winkler, OFM. Conv. provides children with simple explanations of prayer and traditional Catholic prayers. Prayer is very important for children because it helps them build a strong relationship with God. When children pray, they are talking to God, just like they would talk to a friend or family member. Prayer is a way for them to share their feelings, ask for help, and give thanks for all the blessings they receive. It reminds them that God is always with them, listening to their worries, hopes, and joys.

Praying also helps children develop a sense of peace and trust in God. When they pray about things that make them scared or sad, they can feel comforted, knowing that God is always there to protect and guide them. Prayer can make them feel closer to God, helping them know they are never alone.
Through prayer, children also learn to be thankful. By thanking God for their family, friends, health, and the good things in their life, they develop gratitude, which is a beautiful quality. Prayer teaches them to appreciate God’s presence in every part of their lives.
Additionally, prayer helps children grow in kindness. When they pray for others, they learn to care about the needs and feelings of those around them. This opens their hearts to being more loving and compassionate toward others.
