Add to basketAlmost thirty years after the remarkable monograph of K. Zanio and the numerous conferences and articles dedicated since that time to CdTe and CdZnTe, after all the significant progresses in that field and the increasing interest in these materials for several extremely attractive industrial applications, such as nuclear detectors and solar cells, the edition of a new enriched and updated monograph dedicated to these two very topical II-VI semiconductor compounds, covering all their most prominent, modern and fundamental aspects, seemed very relevant and useful.
This book covers all of the topics associated with CdTe (cadmium telluride) which is an "old" semiconductor, but still quite topical, from the physics to the applications.
For many years scientists have known that rare compounds such as cadmium telluride, cadmium zinc telluride and cadmium mercury are ideal semiconductor materials for creating high-definition detectors – but the challenge of producing these crystalline structures has been enormous.
Both editors have worked for more than 40 years on CdTe and they have organized several CdTe-dedicated international conferences. They are particularly well placed to act as editors of a book by gathering, updating, and reviewing research dedicated to CdTe and developing a state of the art text in conjunction with the world’s leading authorities in this area.
