Nutritional cleansing is the single most powerful way for your body to heal and regenerate itself. Author Scot Ohlgren shows how he has gone 26 years without a single antibiotic or prescription drug, using a simple and nourishing cleansing system described in this book. It's easy, flexible, and fits into any working person's lifestyle. This is a must read for anyone interested in a drug-free, pain-free life.
Scott Ohlgren is an enthusiastic student, teacher, and beneficiary of the natural healing paradigm. Raised in the heart of Wisconsin ("The dairy state"), where Spam and Velveeta cheese could make up an entire dinner, his introduction to to the diet-disease connection came about just in time. At the age of 19, tired of acne and sinus problems, a friend shoved a book into his hands, saying, "Change your diet, and those symptoms will go away." Five weeks later, they were gone.
What Scott had learned, by sheer luck, was the effect that real food and cleansing could have on the body's ability to heal.
From that point on, periodic cleansing became a central part of his life and is the reason why he hasn't used a single antibiotic or prescription drug since 1975. He has since become an outspoken proponent, lecturer, and author for a drug-free, pain-free, and disease-free life, using real food nutrition as ones "main medicine cabinet."
In 1985, Scott studied whole foods nutrition at the 9-month Kushi Institute Graduate Program, and later worked with nutritional counselor Steve Gagné (author of The Energetics of Food). Scott also became a certified Rolfing Practitioner (Rolf Institute, Boulder, Colorado) in 1988. His writings have appeared in the Bay Area Monthly, was interviewed in Success Magazine (July, 1998), and he has sold over 10,000 tapes, videos and books on the diet/disease connection. Scott's first book, the 144 page 3Phase Manual (Published by ColorQuest, Durango, CO) sold over 68,000 copies. Each month, his online 28-Day NACHO (North American Clean the Hell Out) cellular cleansing program takes hundreds of participants through the same process that he learned 25 years earlier.
Scott will be the keynote speaker for the 2003 annual meeting of I-ACT (the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy), held in Snowbird, Utah, June 11-14th.
Scott's mission is to create the La Leche League of nutritional understanding; to empower lay people like himself to realize that the role of healer belongs in their hands, and to give them the same chance at experiencing the amazing control that we each have in the direction of our health. He is currently touring with the latest book, Cellular Cleansing Made Easy: regenerate your health without giving up food, sex, or sanity.
In his mid-twenties, Scott spent three years hitch hiking around the world, including a year in Africa and four months sailing a 41 foot sloop off the coast of Madagascar. Scott paraglides, skis, and has been a scuba diver since 1980. He and his wife, Gael, live in Boulder, Colorado with an outside sauna, two cats and a dog. His next big acquisition will be a goat and a few chickens, to mess with the dog's mind.
