Ceramic-matrix Composites

By combining the properties and strengths of various materials it is possible to produce a hybrid or composite material with properties ideally suited to a specific application, and this is particularly important for developing new materials for rapidly growing high-technology industries.

`..provides not only a comprehensive survey of the preparation and properties of all types of ceramic composites, either commercially available or under development, but also presents the scientific and engineering principles that form the basis of understanding and predicting their behaviour.'
European Journal of Mechanical Engineering
`Each chapter in the book is written by an established, well known expert in the field and is reinforced with ample open literature references pertinent to the technical details...The book compares favorably with the numerous other texts that deal with the same subject. It is well written and establishes itself as a good source of information for reference by researchers and developers in the area of ceramic matrix composites...most useful to those needing a description of the present state of the art.'
Materials Science and Engineering
`This book is a good summary of recent research on ceramic-matrix composites.'
