This attractive copper engraving is from Buchoz's 'Le Jardin d'Eden, le Paradis Terrestre renouvelle dans le Jardin de la Reine a Trianon' in Pierre Buchoz's supplement to the work Collection des Plantes les plus rares, qui se trouvent dans les deux Hemispheres. Buchoz or Buc'hoz (1731-1807) was born in Metz. At the age of 28, he was appointed physician to the King of Poland, but left his post to pursue his interest in botany.
