Certified Christ-based Counselor's Handbook: The Process of Being Made Whole

Christ-based Counseling (CBC) is the uncompromised, new-generation counseling born out of the Living Word, Jesus Christ. Established upon principles in the Gospel's, Antecedent Commission, CBC is the powerful healing instrument for God's people. Christ-based Counseling reverses the trend toward psycho-socio based therapies under the guise of "Christian" counseling, which has given rise to exclusive dependency on drug-therapy and psychological humanism. Christ-based Counseling paves the way to non-medicinal wholeness. Designed for ministry leaders, pastors, lay counselors, talk-therapy professionals, or as a self-help program, CBC upholds the power and authority of the Living Word. Christ-based Counseling embraces the creator-based perspective of humanity and wholeness versus the psycho-socio models. Classic topics are discussed from a Christ-based Counseling perspective: Motivation, Environment and Heredity, Dealing with Hard-core Cases, Transformation vs. Behavior Modification and much more. Developed from the life of Christ, now the believer can become the certified care-giving minister with a systematic, well designed, and documented counseling approach. The guide includes complete CBC approaches for Marital/Pre-Marital, Addiction, and Depression counseling. The certification process is at christbasedcounseling.org

Working in the Christian counseling arena for more than 20 years, Dr. Steven B. DavidSon is founder of the National Association of Certified Christ-based Counselors in its 12th year. He designed the Christ-based Counseling model, but refers to Jesus as the origin, architect, and empowerment of the Christ-based Counseling modality. Thousands have taken advantage of his works in areas such as marriage, homosexuality, depression, anorexia and bulimia, child discipline, and addiction just to name a few. His Christ-based Counseling model is the highly esteemed term and approach compared to Christian counseling where often psycho-socio practices are employed under the guise of sprinkled Scripture texts. His comparison in the 1997 article, "Christian Counselor or Counselor Who Happens to be a Christian" makes the differences clear.
