Excellently produced authoritative guide to Ceylonese cooking, dating from 1968, published locally. Near fine red durable-cloth hardcover boards. Spine with some bumpiness (four rather unobtrusive depressions) being really the only (minor, and as bound) fault. Trimmed dust jacket components (front cover and author biography) laid in freely. Includes many photos (in color and black & white) plus scattered drawings. (A quick page through of the color ones counted eighteen, including as examples: "A traditional Sinhala New Year array", "Fruits used as acids for curries", "Varieties of Sweetmeats and plantains", etc. 471 pages including a glossary and index. Pages are clean and paper is above average considering source and date. This copy was apparently brought back by a traveler due to two Ceylon tourist and commercial bookmarks attached by sewn-in threads.
