The Chances Of Death V1: And Other Studies In Evolution

The Chances of Death V1: And Other Studies in Evolution is a book written by Karl Pearson, a British mathematician and statistician. The book is a collection of essays and studies on the topic of evolution, with a particular focus on the role of chance and probability in the process of natural selection. The book is divided into several chapters, each of which explores a different aspect of evolution. Pearson begins by examining the concept of chance and its relationship to evolution, arguing that chance plays a much larger role in shaping the course of evolution than many scientists had previously believed. He then goes on to explore a range of other topics, such as the role of mutations in evolution, the relationship between natural selection and sexual selection, and the evolution of social behavior in animals.Throughout the book, Pearson draws on a wide range of scientific evidence and data to support his arguments, and he presents his ideas in a clear and accessible manner that will be of interest to both scientists and lay readers alike.Overall, The Chances of Death V1: And Other Studies in Evolution is a thought-provoking and informative book that sheds new light on the complex and fascinating process of evolution. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
