Item description from seller

Publisher's original plain thin paper wrap covers (soft back). 8vo. 7'' x 5''. Contains 32 pp with 8 full-page period monochrome photographs throughout. Mrs Pugh, the author of this charming and graphic brochure, has served, with her husband, as a missionary in Congo for thirty-two years. For the first twelve years she was stationed at Yakusu at the Eastern end of the B.M.S. field from which an area twice the size of Wales is covered. On Mr. Pugh's appointment as Congo Field Secretary in 1925, she lived in Leopoldville, the capital of Belgian Congo. Her life and work there brought her into close touch with members of the Administration and with missionaries of all Evangelical Societies in Belgian Congo and Portuguese West Africa. These gave her exceptional opportunities of observing the sweeping changes which have marked the past thirty years in Central Africa. Very Good condition book, in Good condition dust wrapper which is adhered down the spine as issued, not price clipped, 2s. 6d. Member of the P.B.F.A. AFRICA (Congo).
