A lo largo de veinte a�os, la correspondencia entre la escritora americana y su librero ingl�s, Frank Doel, forjar� una amistad basada en el amor a la literatura que har� de Helene parte indispensable de Marks & Co.

Aquella librer�a ya no est� hoy en esa direcci�n, pero el 84 de Charing Cross Road se ha convertido en un lugar de culto, a la par que este libro constituye el mejor homenaje de un lector a su librero.
