A good condition incomplete set of 29 books out of a potential set of 36. The missing books are: 'A Tale of Two Cities', 'Christmas Stories I', 'Christmas Stories II', 'Miscellaneous Papers I', 'Reprinted Pieces', 'Sketches by Boz I', and 'Sketches by Boz II'. All are in similar Good condition except for 'Little Dorrit I' which has a notable split and some loss down one spine cover edge and corner. Fabric bookmarks have a little fraying to the ends and the volumes have foxing largely focused on the top outer page edges. A few spines have rubbed gilding. Textblock edges have mild and expected signs of age and tanning but the page centres appear consistently clear and bright and the bindings are sturdy and reliable throughout. A decent start to a handsome shelf set. More photographs available on request.
