Hardcover (no dust jacket). Condition: Good. 243pp, including a Glossary of birds mentioned with their Latin names . Published by Hodder and Stoughton [1927], Second Edition. Green cloth boards with gilt title to front, slightly sunned and with a lean to the boards. Corners bent, head and tail slightly crushed. Sunned spine with git title and illustration. Text block slightly foxed to long edge. Age toning to FEPs.

Contains a number of beautiful woodcuts by Robert Gibbings. Grey's great love was birds . Even as Foreign Affairs Secretary before and during World War I, he still managed to devote time to birds. After his time in the Foreign Office and with his eyesight failing, he found great comfort in his time with the birds of Fallodon.
