Charmed Vigilance (Paperback or Softback)

*If Pan's Labyrinth wandered into Forks, fell down the Inception hole, and landed inside A Discovery of Witches.*

"The wound burned as I held it under the running water. Fresh blood surfaced, flowing down my hand in different shades of red. My mind wandered at the sight, the flowing blood resembling the fiery sunsets I'd grown used to, the dark flame of red hair I was becoming attached to, and the ardent touch I was growing shackled to."

Josilyn is twenty, gifted, and quietly out of step with the world. Emotions bloom into colours, sounds shimmer with meaning. Every sensation sings—deepening both her isolation and her musical prowess.

When her family relocates to the enigmatic town of Ostia, something ancient recognises her. The eerie manor house, the verdant forest, the lake that seems to watch—and a masked stranger who moves like he's been waiting for her specifically.

But Ostia keeps secrets. And the closer Josilyn gets to understanding what she is, the more the line between beauty and danger dissolves.

Skylar grew up in rural South Africa, where silence, space, and solitude became the backdrop for her inner world. With a background in engineering and a fascination with metaphysics, she began building the foundations of Charmed Vigilance-her debut novel-long before it had a name. Her writing blends dark academia, mythic fantasy, and emotional depth, exploring themes of energy, identity, and unseen realities. She believes stories choose their tellers, not the other way around. After years of carrying the world of Charmed Vigilance in silence, she's finally opened the door. Enter if you crave gothic atmospheres, synesthetic magic, and slow-burning mystery.A self-proclaimed "information dragon," Skylar hoards knowledge and skills across a broad expanse, including (but not limited to): sewing her own clothes, painting, building websites, hosting masquerade events, gamifying her novel-and (hush hush) preparing to launch a YouTube channel.
