Copper engraved map of the tip of South America, from Cook's 2nd voyage. The tracks of the Resolution are marked, with soundings. This large map focuses on Tierra del Fuego and the Falkland Islands. Cook's tracks along Tierra del Fuego are marked and dated December 1774 to Jan. 4th, 1775, when he sets off south, to be the 1st to cross the Antarctic Circle. 20 1/4 x 17 1/4" with margins, contemporary folds, laid flat, very clean copy.
