Chasing After The Wind (Paperback or Softback)

SYNOPSIS

Despite a happy, loving start to life, some dire choices in Kerryn's teens sent this young Australian woman into a wild path of self-destruction.

In a brutally honest account Kerryn describes the terrifying scenes she witnessed as what began as "a bit of fun" spiralled into a shocking journey through the dark world of drug addiction. Chilling stories of drug overdoses, precious lives lost, drug and alcohol fuelled fights, months spent gravely ill in hospital, at one point being given less than two hours to live, will have the reader gripped to every page.

Having miraculously survived several close encounters with death and three overdoses, Kerryn has since turned her life around and now passionately uses her knowledge and experience to warn and help others regarding the perils of substance use and abuse. These life-changing experiences have paved the way for her compelling Drug & Alcohol Awareness Presentations, which she has delivered in senior schools, corporate organisations and other venues across Australia.

Intertwined with her heart-rending personal stories, Kerryn provides vital information on the current, most commonly used drugs of addiction, and a message of hope for anyone caught up in the nightmare of drug or alcohol addiction.

This is a compelling story that takes the reader through one person's journey from the depths of despair to the realms of hope and is hard to put down until the final page is read.

Kerryn Redpath is an Australian woman who lives in the South East of Melbourne, Victoria. She grew up in a loving family and is now a devoted mother of three wonderful, young adults. Kerryn is a passionate drug and alcohol awareness educator, a role that evolved out of her own devastating life and near death trials, many years ago. Today, she takes this message of hope and a warning of the dangers of drug and alcohol use and abuse to young people, by speaking in Secondary Colleges/Schools, TAFES, Corporate events and with many other interested groups. Kerryn's presentation is personal, passionate, professional and as she believes, vital in light of the current events in the lives of young people across this country. For 10 years Kerryn worked in a very rewarding role as an Integration Aide (Learning Assistant) at an Independent College, with students across all sections of the College - Senior, Middle and Junior School. With her compelling presentation and crucial message, Kerryn is now on a 'mission' to reach as many young people as possible.
