Edition not stated. Probable first. Small 8vo. 88 pages. Frontis photograph of the author. Cased in dark-blue cloth with all stamping in gilt. No dust jacket. Inscribed by the author to his wife in ink on the verso of the author's portrait page. No other signs of previous ownership. Not a library discard. A little color loss to the cloth here and there, but overall, a sound copy in otherwise near fine condition. The author was the superintendent of the Illinois state reformatory for young men.

The Friends of the Salem Public Library Bookstore, located inside the central library building in downtown Salem, Oregon, sells donated books and other print and non-print material in order to raise funds for children's literacy programs at the Salem Public Library. Our Friends organization, founded in 1957, is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt and 509 (a)(2) public charity. In addition to our bookstore and regular bi-yearly book sales, the Friends have been selling books online since February 2004.
