221pp. The top corners are slightly bumped, and the front board looks like it had something spilled on it which was wiped away immediately. The spine is faded, and there is no dust jacket. The owner's name appears on the first blank page; recommendations for other books inside the back cover; and there is writing throughout the text (underlining and marginal notes). The book contains nearly 50 pages on Middle English grammar; followed by a short biography of Chaucer; an essay on the various manuscripts of The Canterbury Tales; and then The Prologue to that work, The Knight's Tale, and The Nonnes Preestes Tale; then notes and a glossary. (63182).

Terms of sale
Items are 12mo. or 8vo or 4to. in original binding and in at least good condition unless otherwise noted. The dust jacket condition will be noted separately in the item description. Items are subject to prior sale, though we update our online inventory to remove sold books in a timely manner. Most books are posted with at least a picture of the cover, with other pictures of notable features or defects. Additional pictures of any item are available upon request. We strive to accurately and comprehensively describe the condition of each item for sale and will gladly provide further details if asked.
Shipping terms
Standard shipping in the U.S. will go by USPS Media Rate; faster shipping will go by USPS Priority Mail. The shipping costs are based on most books weighing 2 - 4 pounds (1 - 2 kg). International shipping will cost more, unfortunately. Large, heavy books may require additional postage, but we will try to avoid this if we can.
If feasible, dust jackets will be placed in protective sleeves before shipping. If you don't like the protective sleeve, they are easy to remove without harming the dust jacket. We ship books protected by bubble wrap in carefully-taped boxes, or - for smaller paperbacks - wrapped in cardboard inside a padded mailing envelope. For Priority Mail, we will usually box the book, then place the box inside a Priority Mail flat-rate envelope; most Priority Mail boxes are either too large or too small for individual books.
The "shipping times" are usually accurate, but delays can happen, as we have no influence on the national or international delivery industry! A tracking number for your package is available upon request.
All orders may be returned for any reason per AbeBooks policy within 30 days of receipt.
