Small quarto; original red cloth with gilt spinetail device to upper cover, lettered in gilt on spine; pictorial dustwrapper; pp. ix + (i) + 175; colour frontispiece and one colour plate, fold-out map. Dustwrapper somewhat rubbed and rather edgeworn; trace of foxing to endpapers and edges; loosely inserted "Additions and Corrections to the Check List of the Birds of Southern Rhodesia". Good condition. "The intensive study and collection of birds since the publication of Priest's Birds of Southern Rhodesia 1933-1936, necessitated the compilation of an up-to-date Check List. This work, sponsored by the Rhodesian Ornithological Society, presents the most recent information on distribution, ecology and breeding of all species now known to occur in Southern Rhodesia.".
