Cheetah Rising: A Mother's Love, Survival, And Coming of Age, African Wild Cats Kids Chapter Book , Ages 8 to 18, Grades 3-12

Cheetah mothers almost never raise a full litter of cubs to independence, so most cubs do not make it to adulthood. But one cheetah mother is about to change that!

Raisa's six cubs cling to her love for them, as one cheetah family relentlessly fights the enemies of hunger, perilous rivals, and the deadly reality of nature’s wrath on the Serengeti! Raisa's grit and fierce maternal instinct become the needed anchors for her young cubs as they struggle to come of age while surviving on the punishing African plains!
Eager to grow up too soon, these competitive little ones explore and learn about the wondrous, but unpredictable world that surrounds them, where difficult lessons await. Hunger turns to famine, and an epic struggle to overcome unforgiving odds unfold as our cheetah mother strives to teach her growing cubs the true meaning of independence in the wild.
To fight for their survival, and find their own life path, they must learn how to work together, and to sense when it’s time to let go. The cubs discover that life on the unforgiving Savannah requires fierce determination, perseverance, and cunning! Sharpened edges of triumph and tragedy prune their wills, revealing to all, which will emerge to become the next…Cheetah Rising!
