A good to very good copy, the spine is dry and the covers are much scraped, although this was from long ago as the leather on the covers, at least, does not flake onto one's hands, the joints are cracked, but the covers are tight, there is slight water staining on the back endpapers and on the bottom and side margins of the last ten pages of the text. Otherwise the text is nice and clean and the paper white. An important book by an important chemist, who because of his patrons and positions, influenced pharmacists who came after him. His point of view in chemistry was also vital to chemists. Neumann's dates are 1681-1737. Lewis issued a second volume of Neumann's works in 1773. One must note that the LC Online Catalog gives the date of our book, incorrectly, as 1749, instead of 1759. The DSB article gives the correct date. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
