This series is directed to a broad audience of chemists and materials scientists. This volume, in particular, should be appropriate for a general scientific audience and be of interest, as well as comprehensible, even to undergraduate students in chemistry and materials science.

About the Author

LEONARD V. INTERRANTE, PhD, is Professor of Chemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is Editor of the ACS journal, Chemistry of Materials.

MARK J. HAMPDEN-SMITH, PhD, is Professor of Chemistry at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
