The practical, industrial orientation of the work is also evident in its diverse illustrations, most of which depict production facilities and manufacturing processes.What is special about this edition is a total of 18 full-page steel plates (one of them as a frontispiece, the others in the appendix) on cardboard with the portraits of internationally renowned chemists.
