Item description from seller

Two pamphlets bound together, 16pp. & 20pp., 8vo., signed in black ink to head of front wrapper & repeated in purple ink to head of Statistical Memoranda, 'Private and Confidential/George King.', buff paper wraps, sl. wear otherwise very good. Two uncommon Chester & Holyhead Railway pamphlets of which we can find no record of their being issued together. The Stephenson pamphlet is particularly uncommon. George King was a railway speculator and his name occurs frequently in the early history of the Railways. Fairbairn & Stephenson patented the new principle of wrought-iron girders that had been devised for the bridge. See Ottley 6503 for Statistical Memoranda located in BL only in Copac & Worldcat. and Ottley 2696 & 6512 with only Birmingham and Cardiff located in Copac & NY in Worldcat.
