Chevy Classics

The rise of Chevrolet is the classic tale of the American underdog. Against all odds, General Motors founder William G. Durant started a second auto company, Chevrolet, only a year after being ousted from GM. By crafting quality, affordable cars that could compete with the Ford Model T, he made Chevrolet into such a success that he was able to buy back General Motors just four years later.

Chevy Classic Cars , compiled by the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide, tells the Chevy story through informative text, original magazine and newspaper ads for classic models, and photography that showcase pristine examples of Chevrolets in impressive detail. Chevy Classic Cars features 60 Chevy models, including:

• The 1920 490 Roadster, the first car to bear the Chevrolet name.
• The 1951 Styleline Deluxe, which launched Chevy's famous "See the USA in your Chevrolet" slogan.
• The 1953 Corvette, the debut of the quintessential American sports car.
• The 1967 Camaro, Chevrolet's answer to the immensely successful Ford Mustang.
