Chewing on Murder

Pine Crest loves a story.

So when Glen Fairchild vanishes, the town grabs the easiest one: kidnapping. But former homicide detective Gwen Halstead is already seeing the cracks-the ransom note that doesn't behave like a ransom note, the timeline that doesn't fit, and the people closest to Glen who seem far too practiced at looking shocked.

The deeper Gwen digs, the uglier the case gets. A broken land deal. A hidden inheritance. A trail in the woods that only someone local would know how to use in the dark. And somewhere in the middle of it all is a killer who has been steering the investigation from the start.

By the time Gwen understands what really happened to Glen Fairchild, the question won't be who wanted him gone. It will be how far they'll go to keep the town from finding out.
