About the Author: Juliet Ash is a tutor in fashion/textiles design history at the Royal College of Art in London. She is the coeditor of Components of Dress and a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Clothing and Fashion. Elizabeth Wilson is a professor of social studies at the University of North London. She is the author of Adorned in Dreams, Bohemians: The Glamorous Outcasts, and The Sphinx in the City.
