About the Author

Neal Samors, a native Chicagoan, is co-author of six books, including "The Old Chicago Neighborhood," "Chicago in the Fifties," "Real Chicago," "Real Chicago Sports," "Neighborhoods Within Neighborhoods," and "Chicago's Far North Side." Three of the books have won the Illinois State Historical Society's Superior Achievement Award, and "The Old Chicago Neighborhood" won the 2004 Independent Publisher Award for best history book.
