Chicken Little and Sir Isaac Newton did the same thing. Chicken Little would have figured it out if she had investigated. In this version, she does, and in the process, saves herself and her friends from by Foxy Woxy.
When the acorn hits Chicken Little on the head, she doesn't assume the sky is falling. She investigates. She experiments. She teaches her friends, and she teaches the King. She allows the King the honor of naming her discovery.
Because of her discovery, Chicken Little, Henny Penny, Ducky Lucky, Goosey Loosey, and Turkey Lurkey are able to escape from Foxy Woxy's den Each of the friends demonstrates what they have learned to great advantage.
Gravity by any name performs the same.
As much as in the original story, Foxy Woxy, being a cunning animal as foxes usually are, tries to lure the merry investigative bunch inside his den, but what happens after that is a thing of beauty! The reader can't help but feel so exhilarated and happy while following the animals on their investigative quest. This contemporary retelling of a classic fable is accompanied by equally classic and lovely illustrations. The educational, scientific aspect of the story makes this book a fun and interesting read for children and anyone who feels like one. 5 star review by Tanja Jurkovic for Readers' Favorite

This time the little chicken investigates and comes up with a name for the discovery of something dropping to the ground.... This is a cute book with lovely illustrations by Francie Mion. I think this is a great modern take on;the sky is falling; original classic, and one young children are sure to enjoy. -- Jill Smith

The fable of Chicken Little has always been one of my favorites, your version definitely gives the original a run for it's money. The onomatopoeias were my personal favorite. A close second was the approach on how the animals defeated Foxy Woxy. A great story for children to learn the basics of physics and using knowledge to defeat obstacles. A clever and entertaining book, one I will add to my grandchild's book collection.

Cute, funny and insightful - that's what we think#ChickenLittleInvestigates is. It's a wonderful retelling of the old folktale but with an interesting science angle to it. In case you're looking for some very easy and fun way to explain the concept of "gravity" or why things fall "down", you may give this book a try. -- Under the Guava Tree
