Reviews
Kindergarten-Grade 3. "And then there were..." nine terrific books in this series of classic and new riddles. The cartoon-style illustrations are bright and charming and often supply the answers. Some kids may need a few of the plays on words explained, but what an excellent way to expand vocabularies. Great for laugh-out-loud silliness and for becoming more sophisticated riddle solvers and tellers.?Gale W. Sherman, Pocatello Public Library, ID

Gr. 1^-2, younger for reading aloud. "Why should you never tell a joke to an egg? Because it might crack up." This addition to the authors' animal riddle books in the Dial Easy-to-Read series provides the usual mix of wordplay and silly nonsense, with deadpan full color pictures that add to the farce. Puns are a great way to entice new readers with the fun of words. They will get the yolk. Hazel Rochman
