About this Item
Thus is the "Twenty-third Annual Report of the Chief State Factory Inspector of Illinois for the Year July 1, 1915 to June 30, 1916". Oscar F. Nelson was the Chief Inspector, and his name appears on the title page as author. The book is full of many halftone photographs, some of them shocking (1916 was years and years before OSHA); there are also a few line illustrations , and lots of charts. Here is invaluable source information about the state of protective programs, not just in Illinois, but, generally, for the entire nation. The book is not from a library, has no ownership markings, and remains in very good condition.
