About the Author
1) Casi Olson, M.A. in Clinical Psychology, LMHC/LPC Casi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She operates a private practice called ETS Therapy Services, working with clients in their home setting. Casi possesses an intense desire to help families and children. She has a specific focus on autism-related behaviors and challenges. Shaped by her education and experience, Casi delivers a tailored and family-centered approach, which she promotes through ETS Therapy Services. ETS stands for Empower, Teach, and Support. Casi does exactly those things for her families and clients, in that order. Whether her clients are 2 or 42, Casi will empower, teach, and support them. In her practice, Casi leans upon principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Behavior Therapy, and Humanistic Psychology. Before opening her practice, Casi worked for the University of Washington Autism Center as a Behavior and Education Consultant, where she managed ABA therapy programs, trained agencies, and consulted school districts throughout the state of Washington. Casi earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University-Seattle. Casi also has deep experience in the methods of both Discrete Trial Training, and the ABA Pivotal Response Training technique. 2) Carrie Woolman, Mother of a child diagnosed with autism Carrie is married to Jacob Woolman, and they have 2 boys. Their older boy was diagnosed with autism at age 2 ½. Carrie and Jake were stunned by how much there was to learn about autism and Daniel’s needs. They dove into the learning process with a high level of energy and with the intention to help their son reach his full potential, without knowing what his full potential would be. Carrie and Jake want to share their experience and knowledge with other parents who may now be facing a diagnosis, so that the uncertain next steps might be easier to find, and take. Originally from Texas, Carrie has lived in Washington State since completing her undergraduate studies at Duke University. She also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Carrie works as a marketing professional. Jacob is a stay-at-home dad, having previously worked for several years in the construction industry. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwest University in Washington.
