About the Author

Erich Neumann, one of C.G. Jung's pupils, was among the most creative in building on Jung's work and carrying it forward in new explorations and syntheses. Before he met Jung he was trained in philosophy and medicine. He was also a poet and novelist. A native of Germany, he completed his medicinal studies in Berlin but, owing to the activities of the Nazis, left Germany in 1934 and, after studying with Jung in Zurich, emigrated to Tel Aviv. His range of understanding is apparent in his writings of which the major works have been translated into English. These include: 'The Great Mother; Art and the Creative Unconscious; Depth Psychology and a New Ethic' and 'The Child: Structure and Dynamics of the Nascent Personality'.

En 1974 fund� Abelardo Linares, en el Barrio de Santa Cruz de Sevilla, Renacimiento, librer�a de libros viejos y antiguos, especializada desde un principio en literatura espa�ola e hispanoamericana y en primeras ediciones de las generaciones del 98 y del 27. El fondo se increment� notablemente con la compra, en 1995, de la librer�a neoyorquina de Eliseo Torres, de m�s de un mill�n de vol�menes (literatura espa�ola e hispanoamericana, cr�tica literaria, exilio espa�ol, historia, arte, Galicia, etc.). Tras esta compra, y cerrada la tienda sevillana de Mateos Gago, 27, la sede de la librer�a se traslada a su almac�n: una nave industrial de las afueras. Hasta el momento han aparecido m�s de 300 cat�logos tem�ticos y variados, as� como dos cat�logos generales de literatura espa�ola e hispanoamericana, el segundo de ellos de m�s de 13.000 �tems.
