Child'S First Bible, A (First Bible Collection)

Provides a simple introduction to the Bible and presents Bible stories from the Garden of Eden to the Resurrection in a book with a plastic carrying handle and clasp

"The Bible is like a letter from God to you and me. It tells the story of God's love for us. We read about God and his friends and the adventures they went on." In this cheery book with picture cutouts and a fun plastic carrying handle, many of the most important stories from the Bible are adapted for very young children. Moving on from Baby's First Bible, these readers (or future readers) are ready to delve deeper into the message of the Bible. Featuring the same kid-friendly elements of the other titles in the First Bible collection, this version includes brief biblical parables with catchy titles: "The Floating Zoo!" depicts Noah and his ark, "The Big Picnic" tells of the loaves and the fish, and "God's Wonderful Surprise!" is about Jesus's resurrection. Special thoughts, mini activities, and interactive questions invite families to discuss the meaning of the stories. Following the account of David and Goliath, with a picture of David slinging a stone at the giant, the sidebar comment is "With God on your side, you can do anything!" Parents might want to include a caveat after tales like these--kids, don't try this at home! (Ages 3 to 7) --Emilie Coulter
