Dr. Batshaw is Professor and Chairman of Pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine. He is Chief Academic Officer at the Children's national Medical center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Batshaw's experience includes 25 years of treating children with developmental disabilities. While on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Batshaw received the Alexander Schaffer Teaching Award in Pediatrics. He has published more than 70 articles in highly respected journals. In addition to serving on the editorial advisory board for Exceptional Parent, he serves at the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Research Reviews. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
