Children in the Game : Child Prostitution-Strategies for Recovery

The average age of a child prostitute is only 13 1/2 years old. They come from all walks of life and all income levels. They have been coerced into a life of degradation and humiliation by adults whose only interest in them is the economic profits the child can generate.

For many people the dark side of society is one where no one whishes to walk, and fewer still spend their lives on the streets of a major city, seeking out and rescuing these children.

This book takes the reader into the lives of five child prostitutes. How they arrived "in the game" and what they underwent. While devastating in its realism and shocking in descriptive narration, we gain an insight into the deadly world of children who have been enslaved by predators.

But the book also offers hope. There are proved methods of contact and recovery. We are in a war for the lives of these children, and the author shows us how to win that battle. The goal is realistic, achievable and very very worthwhile.

Ross MacInnes spent 27 1/2 years as a Police Officer - concluding his career as a Vice Squad Commander. He is an internationally known conference lecturer and key-note speaker. He has appeared on many talk shows including Geraldo, Maury Povich, and others. He has also presented to a special mission of the United Nations in New York.

He has been granted numerous awards, including the Governor General's medal for Expemplary Service, the Premier's Award during the International Year of The Family, and the 1995 Rotary Club's Integrity Award.

From 1995-1999, he was the Executive Director of Street Teams, a charity devoted to the contact and recovery of child prostitutes. He is now consulting to other groups, organizations and governments.
