Children of the Sun: A Tale of the Ancient Maya Civilization

In the magnificent city of Palenque, where towering temples rise above emerald jungle and scribes record the movements of the stars, fourteen-year-old Ixchel dreams of a world beyond the white stone roads of her homeland.

When her brother Balam uncovers a forgotten codex hidden inside an ancient cedar chest, the siblings discover a secret left behind by their grandfather - a mysterious map pointing toward the legendary "House of Jade," a hidden place said to contain priceless knowledge lost to time.

As whispers of distant cities, merchant caravans, sacred astronomy, and political intrigue begin to surround them, Ixchel finds herself drawn toward a destiny larger than she ever imagined. Guided by curiosity, courage, and the wisdom of the Maya world, she must decide whether to remain within the safety of home or follow the ancient road into the unknown.
