Regretably the title page and leaf 59/60 are missing and probably adverts, starts on page 1 otherwise appears complete; pp. 63, b/w woodcut illustrations throughout. (Printers named in colophon: Edinburgh: printed by W. and R. Chambers) A prvious owner has dated his name 1839 to the inside front cover so probably a 1838 edition. Orginal brown flexible cloth covers good with a little general wear and rubbing, slightly marked. Contents clean and tight, some loss to the bottom edge and inside edge of leaf 57/58 with the loss of around 15/20 words, a few short edge tears and smal chips, some corners tips bent over, the odd one missing, edges with some general reading wear.
