Reprint of the Collins Classics edition, No. 641 of the series. 192pp., a frontispiece portrait of Robert Louis Stevenson, and many full-page and in-text black and white illustrations by Hilda Goldwag. This edition of R.L. Stevenson's collection of verses for children, originally published in 1885, includes a brief biography of R.L. Stevenson by Margot H. Clow and an introduction by Elizabeth Goudge. The book is bound in the original dark purple cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear and there are two tears of about 1/4" on the top front edge with a light crease running between the bottom of the tears. The tears have been repaired on the reverse with document repair tape.
