Dickens's history of England for children, "intensely anti-aristocratic and anti-monarchical" (ODNB), originally appeared anonymously in Household Words between January 1851 and December 1853. Original covers. Poor condition. Vol I Frontispiece is missing, hinges are cracked net exposed, index page is loose, Vol II has damage to the spine as shown in pictures, first pages have started to get loose. All volumes have heavy foxing, rubbing to all edges, loss to the spine's cover and crack to edges. Marble edges. U5A21. Seller Inventory # 9374
