About the Author

Christopher New was born in England and educated at Oxford and Princeton Universities. Philosopher as well as novelist, he was for several years Head of the Philosophy Department at Hong Kong University, where he wrote the South China Coast trilogy and several novels about China and Hong Kong. He now divides his time between Europe and Asia. His novels, which include The Road To Maridur and The Kaminsky Cure, have been translated into many languages. He is also the author of a book on the philosophy of literature..
