Chinese snuff botles rank among the finest examples of the decorative arts of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) This book illustrates and discusses more than 400 snuff botles, including many of the rare examples enamelled on glass and copper withion the Palace workshops. There are complete sections on those made of jade, hardstone, semi precious materials such as coral, porcelain and metal. A superb production of 665pp on coated stock illustrated in colour throughout.

The village of Farningham has iron age origins, with much Roman settlement, and is today still predominantly 18th century in character. The shop is named after Wadard, one of Farningham's Domesday landlords, a henchman of Bishop Odo, William the Conquerers brother,and featured on the Bayeaux tapestry.
