I Ching: a New Interpretation for Modern Times

This is the first hardcover edition of Sam Reifler's beloved "I Ching - A New Interpretation for Modern Times." Sam Reifler's "I Ching", first published in 1973, remained in print, in softcover editions, from Ballantine Books and then Random House, for forty years. This handsome and sturdy edition is a must-have for all those who already own a softcover version of the Reifler "I Ching". For those who consult other versions of the I Ching, the commentaries in Reifler's "I Ching" provide references drawn from today's culture (both Eastern and Western) instead of the outdated and confusing references of an exotic culture of 1,500 years ago.In this clear, immensely readable interpretation, Sam Reifler eliminates the obscure and dated references of previous translations to provide an accurate and accessible version of the ancient Chinese classic for the contemporary seeker. With easy-to-follow instructions for using both the yarrow stick and the coin toss method, this new interpretation of the I Ching reveals the hidden forces at work in our relationships, our careers, and our emotional lives - and suggests new directions and choices for the future.
