'Choice Pictures and Choice Poems' is an illustrated anthology of popular and (then) relatively modern songs and ballads from the year 1700 onward, filled throughout with floral ornamentation and 23 colour illustrations. The book itself is in good condition, the cover has bumped edges, but the gilt inlay is still bright and shining. Internally, there is foxing and occasional minor staining - and some minor pen annotation (a previous owner was trying to identify the artists for each of the colour illustrations). In general still a good reading copy, with the art and poems themselves still intact.
