About the Author

Daniel S. Janik is Director of American College and University Studies at Intercultural Communications College (ICC) in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. He teaches English as a Second Language at ICC, American academic writing at Hawaii Pacific University and clinical psychology at Argosy University Hawaii. He is the author of A Neurobiological Theory and Method of Language Acquisition (Lincom Europa) and Unlock the Genius Within: Neurobiological Trauma, Teaching and Transformative Learning (Rowman & Littlefield). He earned a BA degree from University of Washington Seattle, an MPH degree from University of California Berkeley, an MD degree from Loma Linda University California and a PhD in Education in Linguistics from Bircham International University in Madrid, Spain.

Joel Weaver is Director of Intercultural Communications College (ICC). He taught English at all levels from beginners to teachers in Africa, Micronesia, California, and Hawaii. Mr. Weaver is an adjunct Instructor at the University of Hawaii and teaches professional development courses English as a Second Language to public school teachers throughout Hawaii and the Pacific. He serves on a number of professional boards and is past Chair of NAFSA: Hawaii-Pacific District. Mr. Weaver is active in promoting quality education and the welfare of international students before and after their studying in the U.S. He has an MA in ESL from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
