Jean Costa is a graduate of Saint John's University, New York, and has a Master of Social Work from UNC, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is a registered yoga teacher from the Kripalu Center for Yoga, a lifelong journaler, and a teacher. Her approach to daily journaling led her to write her first book, Creating Positive Affirmations, Living an Intentional Life. Over the years she discovered the pure power of Choosing Your Words and Crafting Your Life.

In 2005, Jean created the Pink Ribbon Yoga Retreat for women breast cancer survivors under the auspices of the Duke Center for Supportive Care & Survivorship (PinkRibbonYoga.org). She is a chair emeritus for the Duke Supportive Care & Survivorship Advisory Board and sits on the Duke Advisory Board for the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center. She also facilitates workshops that encourage the development of a creative spirit. Jean and her husband, Sandy Costa--attorney-at-law, author, and speaker--live in Cary, North Carolina.
