Chopped: The Secret Ingredient: A Modern Adaptation of Seneca’s Thyestes (Ancient Drama Adaptations for Modern Times)

Family can be both a blessing and a curse—though for Atreus, head chef of the restaurant, "Tantalus," it is more frequently the latter. His brother and former partner, Thyestes, has taken everything from him: his wife, his best recipe, and the success of his business. Now, Atreus desperately needs a spectacle which can revive the stature of his restaurant. However, an idea arises which might resolve all of his problems—one which can offer unprecedented success for Tantalus and revenge for Atreus’ humiliation. An updated, darkly comedic reinterpretation of Seneca’s tragedy Thyestes, Chopped: The Secret Ingredient blends ancient themes of rage, hubris, and familial conflict with modern satire of entertainment and the culinary world.
