All Are Chosen: Stories of Lay Ministry and Leadership

Today the work of the church is the responsibility of both the minister and the laity. More and more people are becoming empowered to act on a local level - they minister to one another, recognize needs, and reach out to help others inside and outside the congregation. Collected here are more than 20 narratives, told by the very people actively working in this shared ministry. Exploring such topics as handling intergenerational differences, providing leadership during disasters, and addressing the needs of those beyond the church walls, each story provides a personal, in-depth look at the work of ministering to one another. Together they demonstrate that ministry is both a communal and a personal act, a connection that is the province not only of the ordained, but of us all.
