Christ the Body Builder: Building Spiritual Muscles for New Believers

Christ the Body Builder is an introduction to the Christian faith written by former bodybuilder Ian McDowall.

The author is also a member of Tough Talk, a group of ex-drug dealers, debt collectors and bouncers from East London who proclaim a message of hope. Using illustrations from the world of bodybuilding, Ian provides solid grounding in Christian disciplines in a warm, conversational and relatable style. He has a clever way of linking the two opposite realms such as encouraging new believers to find a gym, or church, and likens praying to working out.

Ian McDowall was obsessed with becoming a top bodybuilder. As a doorman, debt collector and drug dealer, Ian was able to maintain a regular supply of illegal steroids to 'help him' in his sport. Life had become a cesspool of lies, deceit and violence and his marriage had hit rock bottom. However, an encouter with God after a nightclub brawl changed his life forever and now Ian travels the world with the Tough Talk team sharing his faith.
