Christ in Evolution. This item is unavailable.Christ in Evolution

Ilia Delio transcends the debate on evolution and intelligent design to reveal the Christ who is at the center of our lives in a complex universe. She draws on mystics and theologians to show the love of God at the heart of a total redemptive process, not just physical but spiritual, cosmic, and cultural, and taking place in human consciousness.

Christ in Evolution is a lucid antidote to the current crop of "new atheism" books that argue there is no place in the universe for the notion that there may be a God, let alone a God of love. Ilia Delio offers not a "brief" against this notion, but a way of seeing the universe and our place in it with a vision that is more compelling because it is at once faithful to science and infused with spiritual insights that are "ancient and ever new."

Ilia Delio, OSF, a Franciscan Sister of Washington, DC, is Josephine C. Connelly Endowed Chair in Theology, Villanova University, and founder of the Center for Christogenesis. Her many books include The Hours of the Universe, Christ in Evolution, The Emergent Christ, The Unbearable Wholeness of Being, Birth of a Dancing Star: My Journey from Cradle Catholic to Cyborg Christian, and Re-Enchanting the Earth: Why AI Needs Religion (all with Orbis).
