This book is part of a series of notebooks containing posts from the Christian Left blog, http://xianleft.blogspot.com and Hey Michael Sean! http://heymsw.blogspot.com. The Christian Left blog was originally based on essays from my book, Musings from the Christian Left. It expanded from there, including responses to pro-life newsletters from my parish and fundraising letters from my Archbishop. I provided forceful responses at the parish level, introducing a bit of reality. The Archbishop got none of my money for training a priesthood of maladjusted asexuals while excluding women. Facebook threads and other blogs provide good source material for postings here. It is amazing the number of people who confuse inherent negative rights and positive rights requiring the actions of government. The Supreme Court’s composition and rulings, as well as the silliness in Alabama, are covered. The Church is now in the odd position of opposing the judicial philosophy in Roe while benefiting from the same body of law which overturned the Blaine Amendments banning public funding of private schools. In the past year, there has been much to write about. My postings on faith are both religious and spiritual, a few of which involving reflections on Buddhism and someone I will refer to as Daisy or Her. Volume 1 included whole seasons of Gospel reflections. In this volume, I only hit certain holy days. I also touch on questions of dissent and obedience. The Spirit of Prophesy always focuses on the former. It takes real faith to buck the hierarchy, rather than to conform to it. As always, if there are any who object strongly, buy a copy of the book and send to Rome for condemnation. I need the sales that result. Send any or all of the eight books in the series, especially the last one.
